چکیده

Abstract An elastic–plastic constitutive model considering particle breakage for simulation of crushable granular soils behavior is proposed. In the model, elastic strain rates are derived from a modified Helmholtz free energy function, and influence plastic shear work-induced on properties sand taken into account as an coupling mechanism. A stress ratio-driven mechanism employed calculation rates. The proposed capable tracking evolution grain size distribution (GSD) due to shear-induced breakage. evolving index Einav (2007) (J Mech Phys Solids 55(6):1274–1297, 2007) interrelated work avoid overestimation in loose sands. direct comparison between simulations laboratory data has been carried out five series drained/undrained monotonic cyclic triaxial tests covering wide range initial states. For sake comparison, predicted behaviors hypoplastic specially developed also included. It shown that can provide reasonable predictions using single set parameters each data.

effect of state parameter on improvement of shear band prediction in granular soils

the capability of sand constitutive models is remarkably improved by taking into account the effect of soil state in their formulations. in this study, it has been shown that considering the effect of soil state leads to better simulation of soil instability of shear banding type. to this aim, constitutive equations of a state dependent sand model are explained first. consequently, the general ...

ارتقاء مدل رفتاری ورمر- دبورست به‌منظور شبیه‌سازی عددی رفتار برشی مصالح سنگریزه‌ای

The most important features and phenomena of the deformation behavior of rockfills are stress-dependent stiffness, hardening and dilative (or contractive) behaviors, as well as breakage, rotation and redistribution of particle size. An elasto-plastic constitutive model has been suggested by Vermeer and de Borst to simulate the shear behavior of soils, concretes and rocks. This research has trie...

A viscoelastic anisotropic hyperelastic constitutive model of the human cornea

A constitutive model based on the continuum mechanics theory has been developed which represents interlamellar cohesion, regional variation of collagen fibril density, 3D anisotropy and both age-related viscoelastic and hyperelastic stiffening behaviour of the human cornea. Experimental data gathered from a number of previous studies on 48 ex vivo human cornea (inflation and shear tests) enable...

A Constitutive Relationship for Gravelly Soil Considering Fine Particle Suffusion

Suffusion erosion may occur in sandy gravel dam foundations that use suspended cutoff walls. This erosion causes a loss of fine particles, degrades the soil strength and deformation moduli, and adversely impacts the cutoff walls of the dam foundation, as well as the overlying dam body. A comprehensive evaluation of these effects requires models that quantitatively describe the effects of fine p...

Shear-induced particle diffusion and longitudinal velocity fluctuations in a granular-flow mixing layer

In flows of granular material, collisions between individual particles result in the movement of particles in directions transverse to the bulk motion. If the particles were distinguishable, a macroscopic overview of the transverse motions of the particles would resemble a self-diffusion of molecules as occurs in a gas. The present granularflow study includes measurements of the self-diffusion ...
